Jakob Nonnen (*1993) grew up in the Rhein-Main-Neckar IT-Cluster. He studied Communication Design with a focus on photography at Darmstadt University of Applied Sciences and IUAV di Venezia. Since 2017 he is working as a freelance photographer and graphic designer. In 2021 he completed his diploma »hello world« in Darmstadt. Followed by a teaching assignment in exhibition design and scenography in 2022 there. From 2022 to 2025 he pursued a master’s in Visual Strategies and Stories/Photography at Burg Giebichenstein University of Art and Design Halle, completing his work »Auto Fiktion« under Stephanie Kiwitt in the beginning of 2025. The work was awarded the Giebichenstein-Design-Preis in November 2025. Since Late 2025 he is a graduate scholar at Burg Giebichenstein.
